Workshop Includes: Flying over from Honolulu, Martha Cheng will be leading a discussion on the history Hawaiian Poke, its cultural influences and various ingredients. The class will make three different poke including one vegetarian. Preparation techniques will be taught and recipes provided. Students will also have the opportunity to purchase Martha Cheng's recently published book, The Poke Cookbook.
Martha Cheng is an Oahu based food and travel writer with regular contributions to publications such as Eater and Condé Nast Traveler. Martha was previously the food editor at Honolulu Magazine, and has worked in kitchens in Hawaii and Northern California. She even started and ran her own Grilled Cheese food truck, Melt Honolulu.
Dress Code: Please wear long pants and toe covered shoes.
Tools: Please bring a cutting board and kitchen knife if you are able.
BYOW: This is a Bring Your Own Wine event. We will gladly open your bottle at no cost.
Workshops are non-refundable. Once registered, please find someone to fill your seat if you are unable to attend.
